How Green is Your Stimulus?

Different countries have dramatically different plans to restore their economies in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Leading economists have called for a "green recovery", but only a handful of countries are taking measures which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions while creating jobs. The net effect on the environment will be negative for the majority of stimulus packages.

The data in this graphic comes from Vivid Economics' Greenness of Stimulus Index. Exact numbers were gathered from Carbon Brief's re-visualization of the same data.

The graphic was made entirely with Figma and Google Sheets. Fonts used are Roslindale v2 (title and labels), and Founders Grotesk Condensed (subtitle, labels and footers).
