Recommendations on Women and Climate

Recommendations on Women and Climate

Earlier this year, the European Women's Lobby asked me to help them with some editorial and layout work for a project they're running called Women in Climate. The project brings together partner organisations across six EU countries to explore where gender equality and climate justice meet, through research, surveys, webinars and national dialogues.

They had a 10-page policy brief of recommendations that they wanted turning into a nice PDF, and they wanted a two-page summary document too - all in the organisation's style guide.

This was an interesting one, combining a bunch of the different hats I wear on a regular basis - editorial, subediting, graphic design and layout.

The recommendations look at the gendered impacts of climate change, the barriers that stop women from participating in and leading climate decision-making, and concrete measures for a fairer, more inclusive green transition. They're aimed at policymakers, civil society organisations, researchers and advocates.

The results were published in June 2026, in a wide collection of languages - including French, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Romanian, Czech, Finnish and Dutch. You can read the full recommendations and the two-page policy highlights, or find all the versions on the European Women's Lobby website.
